56 Families… in 3 days… for one special little girl

Over the past couple of months ‘Simply Me Photography’ has been busy running the Katie Jean Morris Appeal photo fundraiser. We managed to raise over $2,500 and I am thrilled to announce that through local fundraising efforts and the support of the Canberra community, Katie now has a new blood machine that makes her life that little bit easier.

A big thank you goes out to all those businesses that helped make this fundraiser the huge success that it was. A special mention goes to Hawker Primary School for the use of their school hall, Tuggeranong Vikings Club, Imprinted Imaging for post processing all of the photos and to my amazing team (Stirling, Clinton and Cara) that have given up multiple weekends to ensure everything ran as smoothly as possible… Thank you!

This opportunity has given me the chance to meet and photograph so many lovely families from across Canberra and its surrounds. We had BIG families, small families, couples, cousins, nurses, bikers and babies…talk about a diverse group of people.

I am so grateful to be able to work in an industry that I am so passionate about. There is an immense feeling of satisfaction to my job, especially when you see a parents face light up because you have managed to capture the first ever photo of their child smiling… and they have been going to professional photographers for 3yrs.

I have been asked to post a few example shots from the fundraiser and although I would love to post all of my favorites, there are just too many to list. Instead, I have selected a couple of different poses and families to give you the general idea… ”Say Fairies”

The City is a Buzz

It’s that time of year again…the weather is warming up, the dresses are out and the high heels are on. Welcome to formal season for our Canberra schools, the city is buzzing with teenage girls and boys waiting to dance the night away.

In all the commotion of deciding seating arrangements, limousine numbers and after parties, it’s easy to overlook one important factor…pre-formal photos. In years to come when our memories begin to fade, it’s our photos that we rely on to help us remember the finer details.

What did my best friend wear?…. Who came with us in the car?…Did I wear my hair up or down?

By hiring a professional photographer for your pre-formal photos there is no stress in trying to capture those last minute snapshots. Leave it to ‘Simply Me Photography’ to create professional, natural and beautiful memories for you to look back on…after all, it only happens once!
